69' Greenwood (16) overtakes Wayne Rooney (15) as the top scoring teenager for Manchester United in the Premier League.

67' Fernandes' penalty was the 113th taken in this season's Premier League, breaking the all-time competition record of 112 previously set in 2006-07.

64' Greenwood has five goals in his last five Premier League games. Before this, his previous five league goals had come over his last 29 such appearances.

63' WIDE! Rashford is afforded space and time to line up a strike from 25 yards. He connects well with his effort that deflects off Konsa before travelling wide of the left post.

61' VAR has a check for a handball against Greenwood as he attempts to head a cross clear in his own box. After a lengthy check will the game continues, the decision goes in favour of United.

60' SAVE! Henderson has to be alert at the back to deny Traore. Targett swings a dangerous low cross for the winger to attack. He swings a boot at it, but Maguire is there with a brave header to take the pace off the strike before Henderson pushes the ball past the post.

59' WIDE! Fernandes lines up a cross from deep on the right flank for Maguire to attack at the back post. He rises above McGinn, but plants his header wide of the target.

58' Rashford and Konsa have a tussle for the ball in the Villa box. The two players square up to each other after the ball travels out for a corner. They have to be separated before the referee has words, but no further action is taken.

55' United have been excellent since the restart and are putting the home side under immense pressure at the back.

54' Targett has to be alert at the back to prevent Greenwood surging through the middle of the Villa defence to latch on to Fernandes' offload.

53' Fernandes has scored 27 goals for Manchester United in all competitions this season, the most by a midfield player for a Premier League club in a single campaign since Frank Lampard for Chelsea in 2009-10 (also 27).

51' PENALTY TO MANCHESTER UNITED! Douglas Luiz brings down Pogba in the box with a loose lunge and the referee points to the spot.

50' SAVE! Barkley is played into space down the right flank by McGinn and he offloads to El Ghazi to strike on the edge of the box. Henderson gets down to make the save, although Barkley was offside anyway.

48' BLOCK! United break on a counter and Fred supplies a pinpoint pass to Fernandes. The Portuguese tees up Pogba to strike at goal, but Mings deflects his effort wide of the right post.

47' Pogba makes a good run down the left flank to link up with Rashford, but his low cross is cleared by Konsa at the near post.

46' We're back under way at Villa Park.

Villa just about deserve their lead. Traore has mustered the one piece of individual quality in the contest with his turn away from Victor Lindelof and strike into the top-right corner. However, they cannot afford to let their standards slip in the second half.

Aston Villa hold a 1-0 lead over Manchester United at the break courtesy of Bertrand Traore's strike. As it stands, Traore's goal will end the Premier League title race, allowing Manchester City to claim the crown tonight. United will not want to hand their rivals an easy passage to the title. They've lacked a clinical edge in the first half and need to improve in the second period.

45' + 2' HALF-TIME: ASTON VILLA 1-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

45' + 2' SAVE! Villa win possession in the final third and Watkins goes for an early strike that Henderson gets down to stop.

45' There will be one minute of added time.

He drills a low strike at goal on his right foot where Martinez makes an initial stop. Konsa gets to the rebound first and takes a touch towards his own goal before clearing the danger.

39' SAVE! Rashford tries to combine with Fernandes in the final third. United are forced back before the forward takes on a strike from 25 yards that travels into the hands of Martinez.

37' Shaw works the ball into space for Pogba to collect. He has time to strike if he does so early, although the Frenchman dwells on it and tries to line up a right-footed drive. Traore gets back and wins a free-kick for his team.

35' Fernandes spots Martinez off his line and attempts an ambitious strike from distance, but his effort sails well over the bar.

34' Shaw collects an offload following a great run from Greenwood, but the full-back sends his cross straight into the grasp of Martinez.

32' For the tenth time this season, Manchester United have conceded the opening goal in an away Premier League game. However, the Red Devils are yet to lose on their travels when doing so, winning eight and drawing one of the other nine games.

30' Greenwood tries to twist and turn on the edge of the box, but he gets crowded out before he can pull the trigger.

29' Mings has to be alert at the back to prevent a cross from Wan-Bissaka reaching Rashford in the box. The defender has enjoyed a good start to the contest.

28' Traore is only the third Aston Villa player to score home and away against Manchester United in a Premier League season, after Julian Joachim in 1998-99 and Christian Benteke in 2014-15.

27' Pogba collects an offload from Shaw and tries to drill a strike at goal from distance, but Cash gets back to block his effort.

25' Rashford makes a good burst down the left flank past Cash, but his low cross into the box is turned behind by Mings.

22' CHALLENGE! Targett is in the right place at the right time to prevent Rashford from latching on to Greenwood's miscued strike at the back post. The forward would have had a tap-in if not for the Villa left-back.

20' It has been a competitive game thus far. Both teams have enjoyed periods of possession, although there has been a lack of clinical edge.

18' United are being forced to defend their penalty area against a series of crosses from the home side. Maguire and company have been solid thus far.

16' CHANCE! Pogba releases Rashford in the final third and the forward offloads towards Fernandes. However, the Portuguese takes a loose first touch and sends his right-footed strike wide of the left post.

14' Villa have absorbed the early pressure from the Red Devils and are beginning to work their way into the contest.

12' OVER! Traore latches on to a cross from McGinn from the right flank that Shaw fails to clear. He goes for a quick effort on the volley that is deflected over by the boot of Maguire.

11' The Villa corner comes to nothing as Targett gets his delivery to the back post wrong. United have a goal-kick to clear their lines.

7' Pogba tries to place a left-footed strike into the bottom-right corner, but Martinez is able to make a comfortable save on this occasion.

6' SAVE! Shaw surges into the left-inside channel following a one-two with Rashford and he hammers a left-footed strike towards goal, but Martinez produces a solid stop before Targett clears the rebound.

4' Rashford cuts in from the left flank to fire at goal. His effort is deflected and loops towards Greenwood at the back post. The forward places it back across the face of goal, but there's no team-mate there to capitalise.

1' We're under way at Villa Park.

1' McGinn takes an early knock following a challenge by Fred. He takes a little while to get into full stride after the tackle.

Aston Villa have picked up just one win in their last 44 Premier League games against Manchester United (D11 L32) and are winless in their last 16 against them since a 1-0 win at Old Trafford in December 2009.

United have made four changes to their side that was beaten by Roma during the week. Cavani drops to the bench and is replaced by Rashford, while McTominay returns to the midfield in place of Van de Beek. Henderson ousts De Gea from between the posts, and Lindelof slots back into the back four as Bailly drops to the bench.

Villa are unchanged from their win over Everton last time out. Smith keeps faith with the same line-up which sees Barkely operate behind Watkins in the final third. Traore and El Ghazi will provide support from the flanks. Villa are still without the injured Jack Grealish, although the England midfielder is nearing a comeback.

MANCHESTER UNITED SUBS: David de Gea, Eric Bailly, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Alex Telles, Nemanja Matic, Brandon Williams, Donny van de Beek, Axel Tuanzebe.

MANCHESTER UNITED (4-2-3-1): Dean Henderson; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Fred; Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba; Marcus Rashford.

ASTON VILLA (4-2-3-1): Emiliano Martinez; Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Matt Targett; Douglas Luiz, John McGinn; Bertrand Traore, Ross Barkley, Anwar El Ghazi; Ollie Watkins.

United booked their place in the final of the Europa League during the week, despite their 3-2 defeat to Roma in the second leg of their semi-final clash. Their loss ended a seven-match unbeaten run in all competitions, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not be overly concerned with the result. The Red Devils can take a significant step foward in their pursuit of second place with a win this afternoon. Their top-four spot is all but secure, but they will want their domestic campaign to end on a strong note.

Villa still harbour ambitions of finishing in the top half of the Premier League and it remains more than a possibility after their 2-1 win over Everton last week. Dean Smith's men secured the victory on the road over the Toffees courtesy of strikes from Ollie Watkins and Anwar El Ghazi, ending a run of three matches without a win in the process. The Villains know they have to up the ante against United and it will take their best to claim another victory this afternoon.

Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Aston Villa and Manchester United at Villa Park.
