16' With 16 minutes played in Gelsenkirchen, Getafe have managed six attempts to Inter's zero. Conte's side are knocking the ball around in their own half but there is a lack of options in the final third.
14' Inter have finally managed to keep their foot on the ball. At least they did until Martinez lost possession on the edge of the box. Can Getafe make this dominant early start count for something?
12' Olivera heads wide from this latest Getafe corner. Conte is not a happy man down on the sidelines.
11' CHANCE FOR GETAFE! The corner is played short and Cucurella sends in a good delivery. Olivera prods it goalwards but Etxeita is unable to divert it past Handanovic.
9' This is not the start to the game many envisaged. Getafe have had 57 per cent of the ball, with Inter barely stringing together more than one pass in the opposition half.
8' Inter are aiming to reach the quarter-finals of a major European competition for the first time since the 2010-11 Champions League campaign, when they were knocked out by Schalke on aggregate.
6' Conte's men cannot keep hold of the ball. Another cross enters the box - from the right, yet again - and Cucurella shows more hunger to get to it. The header from 15 yards is off target, though.
4' As good as Getafe have been in these early stages, Inter have been incredibly sloppy. The Spanish side are having plenty of joy down the right-hand side, with all three of their attacks coming down that flank so far.
2' NEARLY AN EARLY OPENER! Getafe have started this game superbly. Another cross comes in from the right and Maksimovic gets to it ahead of Godin but is denied by a fine Handanovic save. The header bounced off the turf to make it even harder for the Inter keeper.
1' KICK-OFF! Inter get us up and running in this one-legged last-16 affair in Gelsenkirchen. Nyom sends in a dangerous cross inside the opening 30 seconds but it is just out of Mata's reach.
Both sets of players are now out on the field at the VELTINS-Arena and kick-of is just moments away. This game will be played behind closed doors, as will every other remaining fixture in the competition.
Inter Milan have won just one of their last 12 encounters against Spanish opposition in all European competitions (D4 L7) and are winless since a 3-1 victory against Barcelona in the 2009-10 Champions League semi-final. This will be Getafe's first ever competitive fixture against an Italian side.
INTER XI (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic (c); Diego Godin, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Danilo D'Ambrosio, Roberto Gagliardini, Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella, Ashley Young; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.
Getafe produced a shock of sorts by overcoming Dutch giants Ajax in the last 32, prevailing 3-2 on aggregate despite a second-leg defeat. Jose Bordalas' side enter this game badly out of form, however, winning just one of their 11 matches since resuming their campaign in June to finish eighth in LaLiga.
Inter were fairly comfortable 3-1 winners over Ludogorets in the last round and are the favourites of many to go all the way and lift the trophy. Antonio Conte's side are unbeaten in eight matches and finished the Serie A season second, just one point behind nine-in-a-row champions Juventus.
