LIVE: Liverpool vs Chelsea

67' Subbed off in the 62nd minute, Salah has been substituted the earliest into a Premier League game at Anfield since April 2014 - which was for Chelsea against Liverpool (60 mins).

65' Chelsea win a free-kick on the left flank, but the delivery from Ziyech is repelled by the Liverpool defence before Thiago wins a useful free-kick to ease the pressure.

63' WIDE! Robertson whips a cross into the box with power, but Firmino glances his header wide of the right post.

61' BLOCK! Alexander-Arnold has nothing on in the final third and lines up a drive at goal, but his effort is blocked by Rudiger in front of Mendy.

60' Liverpool are beginning to string passes together in the Chelsea half, but the Blues' rearguard is holding firm at the moment.

58' Alexander-Arnold tries a short corner into the box for Wijnaldum, but Rudiger reads the danger and runs into position to make the interception.

56' CLOSE! Ziyech floats a dangerous ball into the box that Werner almost reaches on the stretch, but it just evades the German and into the hands of Alisson.

55' Christensen has to be alert to knock a long ball over the top away from Mane. However, Chelsea's line is also perfect as the flag goes up late against the Senegalese.

54' OFF THE LINE! Robertson saves Liverpool with a goalline clearance to deny Ziyech. Chilwell causes havoc down the left flank with a run and drives low at goal. Alisson denies the England man, but the rebound falls to Ziyech. He fires low and hard on his left foot towards goal, only to be denied by Robertson in the right place at the right time for the Reds.

53' Mount leads a break down the left flank and offloads to Chilwell. His cutback into the middle is met by Kante, but he slips as he tries to strike at goal on his left foot.

51' Liverpool win a corner down the right flank that Alexander-Arnold swings into the box. Fabinho rises highest in the box, but directs his effort wide of the left post.

49' Mount lines up an effort from distance, and although he connects well with his strike, Alisson makes a comfortable save.

48' Firmino tries to force a low cross into the middle from the right inside channel. The ball rises up to strike Kante on the arm, but both the referee and VAR deem that the Frenchman was powerless to stop it hitting him.

47' Liverpool have fallen behind in five consecutive Premier League home games for only the second time (also in May 1999).

46' We're back underway at Anfield.

The Blues have been composed at the back and have shown a clinical edge in the final third. Thomas Tuchel will be thrilled with their performance, but the job is only half complete.

Chelsea lead Liverpool 1-0 at the break in their Premier League clash at Anfield. Mason Mount put the Blues ahead with a fine run and finish after Timo Werner had an effort disallowed for offside on a tight call. The Reds are in trouble once again on home soil and need a comeback to avoid another defeat.

45' + 2' HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-1 CHELSEA

45' There will be two minutes of added time.

45' Salah cuts in from the right flank and curls a cross towards Jones, but the midfielder fails to take it in stride unmarked in the middle.

44' Mount has three goals in eight Premier League appearances under Thomas Tuchel - he had just two in 18 under Lampard this season.

40' Liverpool's front three that has been so electric over the last two years is struggling to connect of late. This half has epitomised their problems.

38' BLOCK! Mount offloads for Ziyech in the Liverpool box. The winger swings his boot at a left-footed strike, only to see his effort charged down by Kabak.

37' Mane is dispossessed by Azpilicueta and wants a free-kick. The referee plays on and Chelsea build an attack. Mount swivels in the box and tries a half-volley on the turn, only to blaze his effort over the bar.

35' It has been a tense battle in the middle of the park. Both teams are showing a good range of passing tonight.

33' Liverpool have been sparked into life since their reprieve after Werner's goal was disallowed. The Reds are still lacking a cutting edge.

31' Rudiger plays a loose pass straight to Mane, who feeds Salah on the right flank. The Egyptian sends a ball looking for his team-mate in the right inside channel, but the two players are not on the same page.

30' WIDE! Liverpool work the ball in the final third. Thiago finds Jones in space on the left flank and he cuts inside to shoot from distance, only to curl his effort well wide of the target.

28' WHAT A MISS! Mane latches on to a ball over the top from Salah, who curls a cross to the back post from the right flank. However, the Senegalese completely misses his kick. It strikes his thigh before rolling through to Mendy.

25' VAR! Werner believes that he has put Chelsea in front after latching on to a ball over the top from Jorginho and rounding Alisson. However, VAR shows that the German is millimetres offside with his shoulder edging beyond Robertson's boot. Tight to say the least.

22' Chelsea are settling into a passing rhythm and there's nothing the Reds can do to stop them at the moment. It's a grind for Klopp and his men out there.

20' Mount surges forward down the left and offloads to Werner in the left inside channel. The German sends a low ball across the face of goal, but there is no blue shirt there to connect with the opportunity in the middle.

19' Chelsea are working their way on top in the contest as Liverpool are struggling to retain possession.

17' OVER! Azpilicueta is teed up by James on the edge of the box and pulls the trigger on a powerful strike that he blazes over the bar.

16' CHANCE! Werner latches on to a ball over the top from Azpilicueta and has to stretch to connect with a strike. However, he does not quite get enough on his strike and it allows Alisson to produce a comfortable save.

15' Jorginho sports James in acres of space on the right flank, but his cutback into the box is poor, missing a wide open Mount on the edge of the box.

14' James lunges in on Mane and brings down the forward. Liverpool get the free-kick just inside the Chelsea half, but there's no further punishment for the England man.

11' OVER! Werner controls a ball over the top from Chilwell perfectly on the edge of the box. He takes a touch to get half a yard on Fabinho, but he drills his effort on the half-volley just over the bar.

10' Jones tries to float a ball over the top for Mane to chase, but it zips off the surface and into the hands of Mendy.

9' Mane almost draws a foul from Christensen in the box, but the Dane just does not make enough contact to send the Senegalese to the deck. Mane tries to keep the ball alive in the right inside channel, but he's forced backwards.

7' WIDE! Robertson collects in an advanced position and offloads to Salah in space on the edge of the box. The forward returns the ball to the Scot to line up a strike on his left foot, but he pulls his effort wide of the right post.

6' Mendy has to race off his line to clear a clipped ball over the top from Alexander-Arnold away from Salah.

4' There's not a lot of space out there for the two teams. Both sides are being closed down in possession quickly across the pitch.

2' James tries to release Werner down the right flank, but the German is flagged offside as he sends a low cross into the box.

1' We're underway at Anfield.

Chelsea have lost their last two away league games against Liverpool, last losing more consecutively at Anfield between September 1992 and October 1997 (6).

Chelsea have made three changes to their side from their goalless draw against Manchester United. James slots into the side at wing-back in place of Hudson-Odoi. Jorginho starts in the midfield ahead of Kovacic. Werner gets the nod to start in the final third as Giroud drops to the bench.

Liverpool welcome back Alisson between the posts after he missed the win over Sheffield United after the death of his father. Adrian drops to the bench as a result. Fabinho also returns from injury to replace Nathaniel Phillips in the Liverpool backline.

CHELSEA SUBS: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic, Kurt Zouma, Mateo Kovacic, Olivier Giroud, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Kai Havertz, Emerson.

CHELSEA (3-4-3): Edouard Mendy; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger; Reece James, N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Ben Chilwell; Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner.

LIVERPOOL SUBS: James Milner, Naby Keita, Adrian, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diogo Jota, Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi, Rhys Williams, Neco Williams.

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Ozan Kabak, Andrew Robertson; Thiago, Georginio Wijnaldum, Curtis Jones; Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino.

Chelsea have been solid under Thomas Tuchel, stringing together a 10-match unbeaten run in all competitions. The Blues drew 0-0 against Manchester United last time out, a result that did not help either team in their ambitions this term. Tuchel's men begin the evening two points off the pace of the top four and need to start stringing together victories to push themselves back into position.

Liverpool halted a run of four-straight Premier League defeats last time out by beating Sheffield United 2-0 at Bramall Lane. A strike from Curtis Jones along with an own goal from Kean Bryan were enough to stop the rot for Jurgen Klopp's men. The Merseysiders now have the chance to propel themselves back into contention for a Champions League place in a crucial showdown against the Blues.

Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield.
