Ronaldo fires Juve to Supercoppa glory with 760th goal

Ronaldo fires Juve to Supercoppa glory with 760th goal

That's all for now though, goodbye!

Today's success means that Juventus have now won five of the last nine Italian Super Cups!

Juventus win the Super Cup after a brilliant display from Szczesny! After a tight first half, Ronaldo netted a record-breaking 760th goal of his career to give Juventus the lead. However, it wasn't an easy victory to hold onto. McKennie's clumsy foul gave Insinge the opportunity to equalise from the spot, but after his miss Napoli began to lose hope. Nevertheless, Lozano's stoppage time effort forced Szczesny into a sensational save to protect the lead - and it turned out to be crucial. Moments later, Cuadrado raced away to set up Morata to make it 2-0 and ensure that Juventus would lift the trophy!

90' + 6' FULL TIME: Juventus 2-0 Napoli

90' + 5' Incredible save from Szczesny! Politano wriggles towards the byline, before cutting it back to Lozano who diverts it towards goal where it deflects off Chiellini forcing Szczesny into twisting in the air to flick it away for a corner!

90' + 4' Politano chips a cross into a packed penalty area, but Chiellini climbs highest to fend off the attack.

90' + 3' Another Napoli attack falters as Arthur intercepts a pass before driving all the way towards the Napoli box to waste more time.

90' + 1' Five minutes of stoppage time are added as Napoli continue to search for an equaliser.

90' Ronaldo forces a brilliant save from Ospina but the flag is raised for offside.

88' Bernardeschi takes the ball to the corner as Juventus attempt to see this one out.

86' Napoli are throwing everything at Juventus right now, but the Turin club still carry plenty of threat on the break as we approach a thrilling finale.

82' That's a tough moment for Insigne. It was a definite penalty - McKennie had kicked through the back of Mertens and Napoli suddenly had an unlikely route back into the game. But Insigne's miss will really knock their confidence now as they chase a late equaliser in the Super Cup.

78' Penalty to Napoli! Mertens goes down under a clumsy challenge from McKennie and - although the referee initially waved play on - VAR takes a look and decides to award a spot-kick!

77' Juventus hit Napoli with a counter-attack, but the move breaks down as Kulusevski hesitates and misplaces his throughball for Bernardeschi.

75' Ronaldo has been the driving force behind Juventus' lead today - the striker has taken six of their 10 shots.

71' Kulusevski gathers a neat pass from McKennie inside the box, before firing a deflected effort narrowly over the bar. However, Cuadrado's resulting set-piece amounts to nothing.

69' Lozano surges past Danilo on his way to the byline, but his eventual cross is too strong and it evades all the attackers in the box.

66' Well, Napoli have it all to do now. They've been steadily pushed back by Juventus in this half and after finally conceding, they now face a difficult task in finding an equaliser.

63' Juventus continue to probe the Napoli defence with a series of crisp passes in midfield; they look much more likely to find an opener currently.

62' Ronaldo hits a speculative volley from 30 yards that deflects off Bakayoko and limply into the arms of Ospina.

60' Juventus have already managed two shots from inside the box in this second half, as they begin to build the pressure on Napoli.

58' Ospina is now receiving treatment after colliding with Ronaldo during that opportunity, but it looks as though he'll be okay to continue.

56' Chance for Ronaldo! The attacker capitalises on hesitancy from Ospina and Manolas, to nip in between the two and poke Arthur's throughball narrowly wide of the far post! That would have been an incredibly disappointing goal for Napoli to concede!

54' Zielinski lets fly from distance but Chiellini bravely heads it away from goal.

52' Bentancur has a powerful shot from 20 yards blocked away by Manolas, but the move ends there as the linesman calls an offside against Bernardeschi.

50' That was almost an instant impact from Bernardeschi! Chiesa had endured a quiet opening 45 minutes, but his replacement has quickly managed to get involved with that chance.

48' Ospina claws one off the line! Juventus almost take the lead immediately as McKennie gets to the byline, before dinking in a cross that Bernardeschi stabs towards goal only for Ospina to scramble over and drag it off the line!

46' Juventus get the second half underway.

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo was the bright spark for Juventus; but they'll need Chiesa and Kulusevski to step up in the second period if they're to win the Super Cup today.

It's 0-0 at half time, after a nervy first half in the Super Cup. Juventus have controlled the half, enjoying more possession and more shots than Napoli. But the best chance fell to Petagna who powered a header from close range that Szczesny kept out with a stunning, instinctive save. Both teams played in a risk-averse style though and you'd think that the second half will be a brighter affair.

45' + 1' HALF TIME: Juventus 0-0 Napoli

44' Chiesa's quiet half continues as he slams a cross straight into Di Lorenzo.

42' Ronaldo is peeling onto the right-back Di Lorenzo at every opportunity, as he looks to target the mismatch and give Juventus the lead.

40' Ronaldo goes close! The attacker cuts inside and onto his potent right foot, before shaping a deft effort across Ospina and just wide of the far post!

38' Ospina firmly punches Cuadrado's corner away from harm.

36' Ronaldo darts inside and attempts to engineer space for a shot, but Manolas suffocates the attacker and blocks it away.

33' Bentancur overhits an angled throughball towards Ronaldo and suddenly Juventus are lacking fluency in attack.

31' Well, Petagna's header was the first shot inside the box all game, but it looked like it would be a certain goal! Szczesny has saved Juventus from conceding another morale-sapping opening goal.

29' Magnificent save from Szczesny! Demme scurries past McKennie and shapes in a devious cross from the byline that Petagna heads powerfully towards the far post, only for Szczesny to instinctively palm it to safety from point-blank range!

27' Napoli have responded well after a nervy start. Juventus had been dominating early on, but gradually, Napoli have settled and now they're beginning to look threatening in attack.

25' Brilliant challenge from Koulibaly Ronaldo latches onto a diagonal from Bonucci and for a moment it looks as though he's clean through on goal! However, Koulibaly manages to recover and lunge in to poke the ball away from the attacker!

23' Chance for Napoli! Insigne darts inside from the left flank and drills a skidding, low cross into the box that flicks off Szczesny before ricocheting against Petagna and away to safety! If that had bounced differently, Napoli might be ahead!

21' Kulusevski clumsily fouls Mario Rui on the edge of the box, presenting Insigne with an exciting shooting opportunity. However, his resulting effort is tame and it drifts harmlessly into Szczesny's grasp.

19' Juventus win another corner following Koulibaly's clearance, but this time Demme heads it away at the near post.

17' Napoli make a rare foray forward, but Di Lorezno's angled cross is glanced well wide by Petagna.

14' Juventus have looked really bright early on. There were concerns that they would still be reeling from that defeat to Inter on Sunday, but the Turin club have quickly stamped out any worries so far.

12' Juventus sweep forward with another flowing move that ends with Ospina saving brilliantly from Chiesa! However, the linesman quickly raised his flag and a goal wouldn't have stood.

10' Kulusevski and McKennie work a clever interchange down the right flank, allowing the former to cut back a neat cross to Arthur who curls a decent shooting opportunity well over from the edge of the box.

9' Napoli struggle repeatedly to clear their lines from the resulting set-piece, until Lozano finally hooks it back over the halfway line.

7' Ronaldo jags past Bakayoko before slamming a deflected effort over the bar from 25 yards.

5' Both sides have started with a pedestrian tempo in possession as they look to avoid making any early mistakes in this final.

3' Bentancur snatches possession away from Zielinski and Juventus proceed to pass it around the back cautiously as they settle into the game.

1' Napoli get the first half underway.

The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
