Premier League Predictions: Cardiff City, Wolves and Arsenal to win?

Newcastle vs Manchester City

If we look at the Premier League table we’ll see that Tottenham are still in the title race despite their 2:1 lost at Burnley. Liverpool are on the mission to keep their lead, while Arsenal are presented with the opportunity to strengthen their position for a top 4 finish.

Cardiff City vs Everton

I really wish Cardiff City to survive in the Premier League. They are very tough team who does it much better than others who have more resources. Everton on the contrary are quite unimpressive considering the money they have spent on players.

Kenneth Zohore could get his first start since September 2018 , as Ourmar Niasse’ isn’t available to play against Everton. Callum Paterson is expected to play in the center. Aron Gunnarsson could return for Cardiff, but Lee Peltier and Bobby Reid need to be assessed well as Victor Camarasa.

Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines are available for Everton squad and have. Yerry Mina is sidelined with a foot problem, while Kurt Zouma serves a one-match suspension.

Cardiff City to win 2:1

Huddersfield Town vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Huddersfield probably need to give game time to some of their young players who would be expected to pay more central role in the clubs next years campaign in the EFL Championship. Wolves have no new injury concerns. They are team that plays for each and every point and I expect them to win.

Alex Pritchard is back for Huddersfield. The Terries hope to have Erik Durm available. Adama Diakhaby, Isaac Mbenza adn Danny Williamswill are sidelined.

Wolves to win: 0:3

Leicester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Leicester City are about to make a huge mistake by appointing Brendan Rogers as next manager, so does Rogers. Driven by ambition, the former Swansea and Liverpool manager would be leaving the comfortable position as Celtic manager. He has probably not concerned with the fact that the Leicester manager don’t stay for a long time in charge of the club.

Brighton need 3 points to distance themselves from the relegation zone. They re only 3 points ahead of the 18th place Southampton and a loss at King Power Stadium is a huge risk for them. The seagulls have a game in hand, but they need to get a point at Leicester.

The Leicester caretaker managerial team has a fully-fit squad to choose from. Glenn Murray and Lewis Dunk are back for Brighton. Solly March, Jurgen Locadia and Jose Izquierdo are also available for selection. Leon Balogun will miss out.

Draw: 1:1

Newcastle United vs Burnley

It looks like that Newcastle and Burnley will keep their Premier League places. Burnley are in a good moment as they have just won 2:1 at home against Tottenham and will be looking to get at least a point at St. James’s Park.

Burnley have no new injury worries or suspended players ahead of their visit to Newcastler. Steven Defour and Aaron Lennon remain out for them, however.

Rafael Benitez cannot rely on Rob Elliot and Ciaran Clark, but has all other players available for selection. Federico Fernandez, Jonjo Shelvey, Mohamed Diame and Yoshinori Muto are available to play. The new signing Miguel Almiron is expected to start the game.

Newcastle to win: 2:1

Arsenal vs AFC Bournemouth

Alex Iwobi and Stephan Lichtsteiner could be left out of the Arsenal’s match day squad against Bournemouth. Both came off injured on Sunday against Southampton. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is available for selection, while as Danny Welbeck, Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding are injured.

Jefferson Lerma will the Bournemouth’s trip to Emirates stadium. Steve Cook, Junior Stanislas, David Brooks, Callum Wilson,  Simon Francis and Lewis Cook aren’t available for the Cherries.

Bournemouth are a very good team who deserves respect and I don’t think that it will be an easy game for Arsenal. Still, the Gunners are in form and it looks to me that they will record another win.

Arsenal to win: 2:0

Southampton vs Fulham

This is the game that Southampton must win. Fulham’s chances to survive in the Premier League aren’t good, while the Saints the enough points to give a proper fight to Newcastle, Brighton and Cardiff City for the 17th place.

Southampton to win: 2:1

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur

Both teams need to win 3 points and I’m sure that both Maurizio Sarri and Mauricio Pochettino aren’t very happy that their teams to play one against another.

Emerson Palmieri has been given few starts on a position which has been long occupied by Marcos Alonso. However Alonso might start as Chelsea players didn’t have a lot of time to rest after paying 120 minutes in the League Cup final on Sunday.

Tottenham are still without Dele Alli and Eric Dier, but their boss Mauricio Pochettino has no other concerns for his team’s short trip to Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham are only 6 points behind the league leaders Liverpool and in theory they are still in the title race. However, losses like the one against Burnley are unimaginable for a team that wants to win the league. Psychologically Spurs look a little bit better than Chelsea, but I go for a draw here.

Draw: 2:2

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Manchester untied have played a good football against Liverpool at Old Trafford and had two very good chances to score. You don’t expect more from a team who’s in development under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Crystal Palace haven’t lost a game since their visit to Liverpool on 19th of January. They are capable of either drawing on winning against any team in the league this season, but I think that Manchester United will find a way to get 3 points at Selhurst Park.

Manchester United to win: 1:2

Liverpool vs Watford

Liverpool’s from three Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Sarah look a bitt toothless at the second stage of the season. It looks like they have difficulties to finds spaces between the oppositions’ lines and their game has become predictable.

For now Jurgen Klopp has somehow succeeded to manage his team and to keep Liverpool on top of the table. This game against Watford is a must win one for the Reds, however. They don’t have points to loose at this time.

Watford have won two consecutive game on the road – one in the FA Cup and another in the Premier League by 1:5 against Cardiff City. They have a really good team who can play on the counter attacks and Liverpool should feel relieved after this fixture if they have won it.

Liverpool to win: 2:1

Manchester City vs West Ham United

Does someone believe that the Manuel Pellegrini will lead West Ham to a draw or to a win at Etihad, where he has won the Premier League in season  2013/14. He has complained about referees after his side drew against Liverpool at London Stadium in the beginning of February. However, back in November when Man City have scored two goals from offsides, something that Pep Guardiola admitted after the game, Pellegrini didn’t say a word.

I’m sure that West ham will give it a try against a team who player 120 minutes in the League Cup final on Sunday, but City have the quality to win the game.

Manchester City to win: 2:1

Man United go back to the '90s with new away kit inspired by a classic

Aston Villa fans at Villa Park

Leeds United is now officially third, while Norwich City continues their winning run. There is an active fight for the first place, active fight for play-offs and active fight for survival. At this point, we can say that this is one of the most exciting seasons in Championship so far. These are our predictions for this weekend.

Leeds United vs West Bromwich Albion

Leeds United is back in play-off place and they have to start winning again in order to get their first place back. They are without the doubt the best team in Championship, but their current form has come in the worst moment. They have lost their last match against Queens Park Rangers and with Kemar Roofe injured don’t have a lot of options in attack. West Bromwich Albion has lost their last match against Sheffield United and this is their second chance to get a win against the direct rivals. Although West Bromwich Albion is having the best attack in the league, I think that Leeds United can’t afford anything but a win.

Leeds United to win: 2-1

Aston Villa vs Derby County

It’s hard to say which one of these two clubs is in the worse form at the moment. Aston Villa wasn’t good enough this whole season, while Derby County has been excellent until recently. One can say that a long cup run has cost them play-offs, but I think that Derby County had certain problems with attack even before this cup run. David Nugent has been awful for Derby County this season as he ruined more than enough chances to get more points for his team. I don’t expect him to start on Saturday.

Draw: 1-1

Brentford vs Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers have won their last match against Leeds United, but their form recently has been awful. It’s not just their form, but they have had a rough schedule too. Brentford on the other side has been excellent lately, they have also lost their last match, but their recent form was similar to the one they had at the beginning of the season. They are scoring a lot of goals, they are more organized in defence and they are always looking to get all three points from the game. With a home advantage, I would say that they are the favorites to win here.

Brentford to win: 2-0

Hull City vs Birmingham City

Now, with Derby County and Bristol City having tough matches, this could be a chance for Birmingham to finally get into play-offs. They are back on tracks again and they have been amazing in attack this whole season. Hull City, on the other side, is also trying their best to reach play-offs and with only three points behind Birmingham, the home side will be working hard to get a win on Saturday. For me, Birmingham City is having a better team, they have performing better this whole season and I think that they can win this one.

Birmingham City to win: 1-2

Ipswich Town vs Reading

Ipswich Town managed to get a point away from home against Wigan in their last match, while Reading also took a point, but they did it at home against Rotherham. This will be a big match for both teams. Ipswich Town will be looking to get all three points at home against their relegation rivals, while Reading will try to continue their good form. I wouldn’t expect a very exciting game with a lot of goals, but I expect Reading to get an away win.

Reading to win: 0-1

Millwall vs Norwich City

With their recent form Millwall is far away from safety, and to even to say that they are tough team to face when they play at home is not correct anymore. Their season so far has been a disaster, while Norwich City on the other side is having a season that nobody expected them to have. They hold the first place, they are in amazing form and their away record has been more than excellent. Teemu Pukki is Championship top scorer with 23 goals so far and I expect him to score again on Saturday.

Norwich City to win: 0-2

Preston North End vs Bristol City

Although they have lost their last two games, Bristol City is still in amazing form and they are still in play-offs. With Derby County having a tough match they have another opportunity to get away from their direct rivals, but will they take it? Preston North End is not an easy team to play against at the moment, they are unbeaten in their last eight matches and they will look to stay unbeaten on Saturday too. I expect both teams to score in this one, but I don’t expect any of these two sides to get all three points.

Draw: 2-2

Rotherham United vs Blackburn Rovers

I don’t know what is going on with Blackburn Rovers, but it looks like they have dropped their form the minute they saw that they can’t reach the play-offs anymore. They have been excellent this season and they have an amazing team, but their recent form has been awful both at home and in away games. Rotherham United is still fighting to survive and stay in Championship for one more season, they are good at home and they will certainly work harder on Saturday.

Rotherham United to win: 1-0

Stoke City vs Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest has been awful away from home this season. They’ve managed to get 19 points from away performances, but they’ve got only three away wins so far. Stoke City is far from their best form and they are struggling to score and to get a win. With Martin O’Neill, Nottingham Forest has really improved their defence and I am confident that they can get a clean sheet in this one. Considering that they are chasing play-offs, I think that they are favorites to win on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest to win: 0-1

Swansea City vs Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers are by far one of the worst sides in Championship this season and I am not sure if they have any chance to survive. Swansea City is not having the best season, but with a team that they have I think that they are doing just fine. They are quite good at home and although they are having problems to score from time to time, I don’t think that it will be a problem for them to find a back of the net against Bolton Wanderers.

Swansea City to win: 2-0

Wigan Athletic vs Middlesbrough

For now, Middlesbrough is staying in play-offs. They have improved their form lately and they have made a nice gap between them and their rivals. Wigan Athletic is five points clear from relegation zone and I don’t think that they will get relegated this season. They are good at home, but their recent form has simply been awful. I think that Wigan is having an excellent team, but I don’t think that they can compete with top 6 sides for now.

Middlesbrough to win: 1-2

Sheffield Wednesday vs Sheffield United

Big derby will be played on Monday night with both teams from Sheffield being in excellent form at the moment. Sheffield United is still looking to get that first place, while Sheffield Wednesday has been making some excellent result with Steve Bruce lately. I expect a lot of action and lot of goals from this one, but for me, Sheffield United has been better this whole season and they have a better chance to win this one on Monday.

Transfer Talk: Barca eye unsettled Cavani as Aguero replacement

Norwich City fans

Things are getting crazy in Championship and with every round it is harder to predict which team will get promoted to Premier League this season. Leeds United is back on 2nd place, but they will have a tough match against Bristol City on Saturday. These are our predictions for this weekend in Championship.

Norwich City vs Swansea City

With every game they play, Norwich City looks even better. They have done an excellent job this season and there is no reason for anyone to think that they won’t win this one. Swansea City is having a solid season, as most of the teams in Championship right now, they have a slight chance of getting into play-offs, but I simply can’t see them getting a good result against Norwich City. They have struggled to win against Bolton in their last game even though Bolton had two red cards. Teemu Pukki is still Championship top scorer and I expect him to continue his excellent form and score again on Friday against Swansea City.

Norwich City to win: 2-0

Blackburn Rovers vs Preston North End

Preston North End is one of the few teams that are currently in excellent form. They are unbeaten in their last nine matches and they will be working hard to make it ten. Blackburn Rovers dropped their form recently and although they could’ve been in play-offs right now, they are losing a lot and finding it hard to get a good result. It will certainly be a tough match for Preston North End as they play away from home, but I believe that they can get all three points with their current form.

Preston North End to win: 1-2

Sheffield United vs Rotherham United

After finishing 0-0 with their biggest rivals, Sheffield United has dropped to 3rd place again. However, they have an excellent opportunity to move up as Leeds United will have a tough match against Bristol City. When it comes to Sheffield United, they have been excellent this season and they look ready to play in Premier League. Rotherham United on the other side has been in good form recently, but their overall away performance this season has been awful so I can’t see them getting a good result from this one.

Sheffield United to win: 1-0

Bolton Wanderers vs Millwall

When it comes to these two clubs, they are currently direct rivals in fight for survival. Millwall is currently in awful form and they have lost their last three matches. Bolton Wanderers are still hoping to somehow get out of the relegation zone and games like this are certainly their biggest chances. However, Bolton Wanderers are not playing good enough to survive this season, and this game is the better opportunity for Millwall to improve their form. They’ve managed to get only two away wins this season, but I believe that they can get their third on Saturday as a better team.

Millwall to win: 0-2

Bristol City vs Leeds United

This simply has to be the biggest game this weekend. Leeds United is having a tough challenge as they need to improve their form in order to get their first place back, while Bristol City is looking to stay in play-offs. 4-0 win against West Bromwich Albion has to be a big boost for Leeds United, but considering that this is an away match against the team that has been in excellent form this year, I can’t say if any of these two teams can get a win.

Draw: 1-1

Derby County vs Sheffield Wednesday

It was a tough match for Derby County on Tuesday, but they’ve somehow managed to get a win against Wigan at home. This game will be harder for them as Sheffield Wednesday is in amazing form under Steve Bruce. Both teams will be looking for a win here as both teams are fighting for play-offs, but for me Derby County is having a better chance to get all three points. They’ve had an excellent season so far and they have an advantage of playing at home.

Derby County to win: 2-1

Middlesbrough vs Brentford

If this was an away match for Middlesbrough, I’d say that this is the game in which they’ll drop points. However, this is a home game, and although their home performance has been far from good this season, Brentford only has one away win so far. Middlesbrough is excellent in defence, but it will be a tough challenge to keep Brentford from scoring. Although this really is an unpredictable match, I think that both teams are quite similar in terms of quality and that both teams can get a point from this one.

Draw: 1-1

Nottingham Forest vs Hull City

At the moment it’s hard to find a match that isn’t between direct rivals as most of the teams in Championship are either fighting for play-offs or hold a play-off spot. Both Nottingham Forest and Hull City are having 50 points, with Nottingham Forest having a better goal difference. This is a tough match to predict, but Nottingham Forest has better team and they have an advantage of playing at home, so I expect them to get all three points on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest to win: 1:0

Queens Park Rangers vs Stoke City

Queens Park Rangers have completely dropped their form and I can’t see them getting back in fight for play-offs. Stoke City has been awful this season, but with everything that’s going on in Championship at the moment, it is not impossible for them to move up and maybe fight for a play-off spot. They certainly have a better team, they have been in better form lately and they will work hard to get all three points here. This will be a tough away game for them, but I think that with their current form they can get a good result.

Stoke City to win: 0-1

Reading vs Wigan Athletic

Another game between the rivals that are fighting for survival is the clash between Reading and Wigan Athletic. Both teams will look at this match as a great opportunity to get all three points, but for me Reading is having a better chance to win. Wigan Athletic has been awful away from home this season and their recent form has been far from good, while Reading has massively improved under new manager and they should be winning matches like this, especially at home.

Reading to win: 2-1

West Bromwich Albion vs Ipswich Town

West Bromwich Albion has been extremely inconsistent this season which is the main reason why they haven’t been fighting for the first place. They have lost 4-0 against Leeds United in their last game, but they have a much easier challenge in front of them on Saturday. Ipswich Town has been by far the worst team in Championship this season, and although they could’ve won their last few matches, they simply have no chance of staying in league this season. Considering that they are by far better team and that they play at home, I’d say that this should be an easy win for West Bromwich Albion.

West Bromwich Albion to win: 3-0

Birmingham City vs Aston Villa

On Sunday we’ll have another derby. Birmingham City will meet with Aston Villa as both teams need a win in their fight for play-offs. For me, Birmingham City has been a better team this season, but Aston Villa can do wonders on their day. Both teams will certainly put effort and I expect both teams to score, but I can’t say if any of these two sides will get all three points. Just like the Sheffield derby on Monday, this one can end with both teams getting a point.

Leicester City vs Southampton

It looks like that the bottom three of the Premier League would be Huddersfield Town, Fulham and Cardiff City with the latter having chance to go above Southampton in the table. On the top Manchester City have taken the lead and there will be very few chances for Liverpool to reclaim the top spot. The most interesting battle now is the one between Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea for a top 4 finish. It looks like Spurs are also now more involved into this group, rather than the two teams who find for the title.

Cristal Palace vs Brighton

Both teams need to continue picking up points to avoid being involved in a relegation battle. Brighton have never looked like they might loose ther Premier League status. It looks like Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff City are simply not good enough and this will make the last 9 games a bit easier for Brighton.

Cristal Palace have already picked up 33 point and need just two more wins to guarantee their top flight status. I think that both teams aren’t under huge pressure and could allow themselves to play a good football.

Crystal Palace to win: 2:1

Cardiff City vs West Ham

I’m very sympathetic to Cardiff City, but unfortunately for them, they have been both unlucky this season and at the same time not very well prepared to keep their place in the Premier League. This does not mean that they cannot beat West Ham and go above Southampton in the table, however.

The Cardiff City’s central defender Sol Bamba is out and this is a bad news for the Bluebirds as he has been one of their best players this season.

Manuel Pellegrini has managed to create a very competitive West Ham team, who can finish at 7th place in the Premier League. If the Hammers continue pick up points, this could be one of their best seasons in the history of the Premier League.

Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sanchez, Andriy Yarmolenko and Winston Reid are sidelined for the Hammers while Fabian Balbuena and Aaron Cresswell are also doubtful.

West Ham to win: 1:2

Huddersfield vs Bournemouth

This game is a good opportunity for Bournemouth who has recently didn’t play very well against some of the best teams in the league, to show their qualities and to close the gap to top 10. They go to Huddersfield to meet the Terriers team who already knows their fortunes and now play for their pride and for the fans.

The Huddersfield captain Tommy Smith is banned, while Jonathan Hogg, Laurent Depoitre, Demeaco Duhaney, Adama Diakhaby and Isaac Mbenza are injured.

Callum Wilson has returned to training and Eddie How might decide to include him into the match day squad. Steve Cook, Dominic Solanke and Junior Stanislaus are sidelined for Bournemouth.

Draw: 1:2

Leicester City vs Fulham

Brendan Rogers has been considered as successful manager at Swansea before moving to Liverpool where his wrong tactics and mismanagement of the squad and approach to players, have have cost the Reds the title in season 2013/14. For those who have forgotten, Rogers has moved Steven Gerrard to play as holding midfielder, despite that Gerrard’s best position was to play number 8 in the midfield, to operate between defence and strikers and to control the Liverpool’s game. This is not a mistake made due to ignorance. RigersRogers is well prepared as football coach. this was a mistake a result of overestimating one’s own abilities to manage the game.

Leicester are obviously a bigger club than Swansea and a lesser one than Liverpool, despite that unlike the Red they have won a title in the Premier League era. Rogers will probably be successful there. I think he is off for a good start as Fulham aren’t competitive enough and for that reason are returning to the EFL Championship.

Marc Albrighton and Daniel Amartey. The club’s talismanic striker Jamie Vardy is fit to play.

Marcus Bettinelli, Alfie Mawson and Andre Schurrle are out for Fulham.

Leicester to win: 3:1

Newcastle United vs Everton

I don’t have the feeling that Everton have been progressing under Marco Silva. Their season have been on ups and downs and they failed to produce consistent performances. For that I think that this season will not be remembered at Goodison Park even if the Toffees manage to finish 7th or 8th at the end of the season.

Newcastle look like they will keep their Premier League place, but the Magpies still need to win 2 or 3 games to ensure they will be in the top-flight next season.

Everton have won on their last two visits to Newcastle by 0:1 and are comfortable playing against the Magpies.

Draw: 1:1

Southampton vs Tottenham

Spurs boss said that Tottenham aren’t obviously ready to win the league if they cannot get 3 points at Burnley when they need them. I looks like that Jurgen Klopp has recently felt the same, so Pochettino isn’t alone. Now his Spurs need to go and play against Southampton side which fights to avoid relegation and even a point would’ve something f for them.

Dele Alli could return to the Tottenham squad. Harry Winks faces a late fitness test while Kieran Trippier isn’t expected to play.

Danny Ings will out for Southampton. Mario Lemina is back in training, but the Spurs visit comes t nearly for him.

Draw: 1:2

Manchester City vs Watford

Watford have conceded 7 goals on their last 3 Premier League visits to Etihad and score only once. The good news for them is that they are now visiting side, because within their last 4 home games against the Man City, the Hornets have conceded 16 goals and scored only 3.

I don’t think that Watford, who are play and offensive entertaining football are expected to get anything out of this visit to Manchester.

Manchester City to win: 3:0

Liverpool vs Burnley

Liverpool haven’t lost their chances to win the title, but they now depend on Manchester City and should hope that the Pep Guardiola’s side will make mistakes. Unlike its who have lost 4 games this season, Liverpool have lost only once. However, their striker’s inability to convert the situation the team creates into goals, have cost them a lot of points – 2 against Leicester City, 2 against West Ham, two against Manchester United and another two against Everton. They needed to pick up only those of those, to stay on top of the table.

Now Reds welcome Burnley who need points to make sure that they will stay in the Premier League. Such Burnley side will be dangerous and very effective as the Sean Dyche’s men will be good to win a point, which will probably end the Liverpool chances to win the Premier League title.

Liverpool to win: 1:0

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

With a game in hand compared to Man United. Arsenal and Tottenham, Chelsea look in a comfortable position to attack the 3rd position in the league. I watched them playing at home against Dynamo Kiev in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday and looked good. Now the Maurizio Sarri’s led side welcome a team who play a very attacking football.

Wolves can ruin the Sunday afternoon for the Blues, if Chelsea choose a wrong tactics against the Nuno Espirito Santo’s team. However, if the Sarri find a way to block Wolves in the midfield while allowing them to attack, Chelsea’s fast strikers could demolish the visitors.

Draw: 3:1

Arsenal vs Manchester United

I don’t know what to think about Arsenal’s loss again Rennes in the Uefa Europa League. Arsenal have conceded 3 goals after opening the scoresheet. Considering their status in the European football they should have either won or drawn this fixture. It looks like Unay Emery has a long way to go to return the Arsenal’s status of a powerhouse in the European football. In the Premier League he is very close to achieve on this target and to return the Gunners into the Top 4.

Arsenal have an unique opportunity to win one of the so called six-pointer games and to go above Manchester United in the league table. There are three main obstacles that Gunners need to overcome, however. Their defence is obviously not good enough, they will be a bit tired as they have played on Thursday evening and on top of that they welcome a vitalized Manchester United team who has just managed to go pass Paris saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Spurs' Conte on first Prem win: Fans right to boo

Leeds United vs Derby County

All games this weekend will be played on Saturday with two matches that have been postponed due to Millwall and Swansea City still playing in FA Cup. We’ll get to watch some great matches in Championship this weekend and we can only hope that it will be as entertaining as it has been in past few weeks. These are our predictions for this Championship round.

Leeds United vs Sheffield United

The biggest match this weekend will be the first match we’ll be able to see on Saturday. Leeds United is playing at home against their direct opponents, Sheffield United. I will definitely be expecting a lot of action in this game as these two teams both need a win to secure direct promotion to Premier League. Sheffield United is currently in slightly better form, but this is their biggest chance to prove if they are ready to play Premier League football next season. In terms of quality, I’d say that these two teams are about the same, but Leeds United made some incredible results this season and will be aware of how much this match means to them.

Leeds United to win: 2-1

Aston Villa vs Middlesbrough

After winning in derby against Birmingham, Aston Villa has won their next match against Nottingham Forest. They are currently in excellent form and they are only two points away from play-offs. Middlesbrough, on the other side, is struggling to get points at the moment, and although they are still safe, they need to get a win as soon as they can. For me, Aston Villa simply needs to win this, they had an awful season so far and they have to grab this chance to reach play-offs. Middlesbrough is excellent away from home, but with their current form I wouldn’t expect them to get a win.

Aston Villa to win: 2-0

Brentford vs West Bromwich Albion

Brentford has won all of their last five home games, and although their place on table doesn’t label them as tough opponent, they certainly are one. West Bromwich Albion doesn’t seem capable of getting direct promotion, and they are the only team that is actually safe in play-offs, so I can’t see them fighting for win as much as Brentford will. I expect a lot of goals on both sides, but for me Brentford is the team that will get all three points.

Brentford to win: 3-2

Hull City vs Queens Park Rangers

With the way thing are happening in Championship for the last few weeks, Hull City still has a chance of getting into play-offs, but they need to get all three points here. Queens Park Rangers has been in awful form lately, and the fact that they have lost at home against Rotherham in their last game says it all. Hull City has been excellent this season and although they have dropped their form lately, they are still excellent in attack and they are still a tough opponent, which they showed in their last match against Norwich.

Hull City to win: 2-0

Ipswich Town vs Nottingham Forest

These games are quite hard at this stage of the season and Nottingham Forest will certainly have a hard time trying to beat Ipswich Town on Saturday. However, Ipswich Town doesn’t have a real chance of getting out of relegation zone, while Nottingham Forest is quite close to play-offs at the moment. They are only three points behind Derby County and they have to get an away win on Saturday if they want to continue their fight for play-offs and promotion. They certainly have a better team so I expect them to win on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest to win: 1-2

Preston North End vs Birmingham City

Another team that is really pushing for play-offs right now is Preston North End and they have actually been in excellent form lately. They are only two points behind Derby County and they are unbeaten in their last eleven matches. Birmingham City has been near play-offs this whole season, but after their recent losing run they don’t seem to be ready to fight for promotion this season. I expect Preston North End to keep more possession and create more chances in this one.

Preston North End to win: 1-0

Rotherham United vs Norwich City

Although nobody expected them to be so, Norwich City has been the best team in Championship this season. They are currently holding the first place and they simply look unbeatable. Rotherham United on the other side is struggling in relegation zone and they will certainly work hard to get a good result, but I don’t think that this will be one of these stories when the relegation side beats the league leader. Norwich City simply can’t afford to lose points with Leeds United waiting for them to drop points.

Norwich City to win: 1-2

Sheffield Wednesday vs Blackburn Rovers

Sheffield Wednesday has been a different team under Steve Bruce and they are also fighting for play-offs. They have been in incredible form lately, while their opponents have been struggling to get points in recent weeks. Blackburn Rovers really have a good team and if they haven’t dropped their form in crucial moment this would be a fight between direct rivals, but they are currently not fighting for anything. Sheffield Wednesday on the other side needs to secure another home win in order to continue their fight for play-offs.

Sheffield Wednesday to win: 1-0

Stoke City vs Reading

Stoke City still can’t get in their best form, but they are at least unbeaten in their last six matches. However, I don’t think that they will continue that run on Saturday. Reading has been a different side after sacking Paul Clement and they have been in quite a good form lately. They are fighting for survival and every point is important, so they will certainly work hard to get all three points on Saturday. I believe that they can easily do it considering their recent form.

Reading to win: 0-1

Wigan Athletic vs Bolton Wanderers

Although this is an important match for both sides, I believe that this is a bigger opportunity for Wigan Athletic as they simply shouldn’t go all the way down to relegation zone after the season they’ve had. They have an excellent team, good manager, but they had a tough period and now they are fighting for survival. They are excellent at home, and I don’t think that Bolton Wanderers can get a good result on Saturday.

Wigan Athletic to win: 2-0

Coronavirus: Ex-Ghana sports minister Yamin criticises government for football suspension

Huddersfield Town vs Arsenal

There are only five Premier League games this weekend due to the FA Cup quarter finals. Watford, Crystal Palace, Manchester City, Wolverhampton, Manchester United and Brighton are the Premier League teams to fight for places in the FA semi-finals.

AFC Bournemouth vs Newcastle United

Three more points will guarantee Newcastle United’s place in the Premier League. Bournemouth have never had any relegation worries are they have been solid enough and played like a team who sits in the middle of the table. However, The Cherries haven’t been at their best in 2019 and Eddie How’s main objective now should be to finish the season in a good form and to win as many games as possible.

Rafael Benitez has managed to improve the Magpies in the second part of the season and to get the best of his squad. Now, Newcastle aren’t playing under stress and I believe that they will put a solid performance against Bournemouth.

Steve Cook, Simon Francis and Lewis Cook are out for Bournemouth, but the Cherries don’t have any new injury worries.

Newcastle will be without captain Jamaal Lascelles (knee), who joins Sean Longstaff and Rob Elliott on the sidelines. However, Ciaran Clark is back in contention.

Draw: 1:1

Burnley vs Leicester City

Burnley’s Steven Defour will not be playing. Aaron Lennon is also unlikely to feature due to a knee problem.

Daniel Amartey and Marc Albrighton are out for Leicester.

Burnley are only 2 points above Cardiff City and are the most relegation endangered team outside the bottom three. They welcome Leicester City led by the ambitious Brendan Rogers, who knows that if he does not win games, the Thai owners will not keep him at King Power stadium for a long time.

Burnley have won their last two Premier League home games against Leicester and will be looking forward to win another one. The Foxes are a good team and I think that they will get a point at Turf Moor.

Draw: 1:1

West Ham United vs Huddersfield Town

Being a de facto relegated side make Huddersfield unpredictable. Despite that West Ham is a solid team at the moment I would not rule out a draw in this game that Hammers should be winning.

Andy Carroll have and an ankle problem which may end his West Ham injury-plagued carrier. Marko Arnautovic and Fabian Balbuena are about to start after recovering from injury, however.

The long terms injuries Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko, Carlos Sanchez and Winston Reid are not available for West ham.

Kongolo might be given a start for Huddersfield. Durm is doubtful, while Laurent Depoitre, Adama Diakhaby, Isaac Mbenza, Demeaco Duhaney, Jonathan Hogg and Danny Williams were all still out.

West Ham to win: 3:1

Fulham vs Liverpool

Liverpool are on high after they have knocked out Bayern Munich in the Champions League. After qualifying for the Quarter finals, they have reestablished their claim to return as one of the European football’s powerhouses. However, the Reds are still a work in progress as they are still about to win a trophy under Jurgen Klopp. It is a good moment for them to get 3 points and to return at the top of the Premier League.

Like Huddersfield, Fulham is also already a EFL Championship side, which means that they now play only for the fans and will be dangerous against the Reds. I think that Liverpool will win that one, but it will be a tough one.

Liverpool to win: 1:2

Everton vs Chelsea

The Everton’s boss Marco Silva spoke to SkySports and told them that he knows that his team ‘cannot achieve important things without consistency”.

“Everton signed 12 or 13 players last season. This season we signed seven more. Twenty new players. Some of the players signed last season aren’t here now. Twenty months and four coaches also. It’s so many changes for one football club.”

Silva is right. Unfortunately for him there is a problem about mentality at Goodison Park. Everton is one of the traditionally top six English teams, but within the last 20 years the club has loss its status of one of the best in the league. The club needs both to make significant investment in buying players, which the Everton owner in fact did and to change the mentality of the supporters and the players which would be the most difficult thing.

Chelsea have had ups and downs under Maurizio Sarri, but it looks to me that he know what he is doing and we can see that in the UEFA Europa League.

Kurt Zouma is not unavailable to play against his parent club. Phil Jagielka is still not ready to play.

Gonzalo Higuain is available to play for the Blues, but Olivier Giroud might be given a start after scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League clash against Dynamo in Kiev.

Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Jorginho and Eden Hazard are expect to play against Everton.

Chelsea to win: 1:2

Video: Manchester United cement their top four status

Pablo Hernandez - Leeds united against Swansea.

International break is over and we will finally get to watch Championship football again. Things are getting crazy in fight for play-offs and fight for survival too. Norwich City is currently looking stable leading the league, but there is still fight between Leeds United and Sheffield United for the second place. These are our predictions for this weekend in Championship.

West Bromwich Albion vs Birmingham City

We’ll have another derby on Friday night as West Bromwich Albion will meet with Birmingham City. Birmingham has faced points deduction after what happened in their match against Aston Villa. They are not in fight for play-offs anymore, but they will certainly not face another relegation battle. This has certainly affected the team badly and I am not sure if they would be able to provide the real fight in their match on Friday. West Bromwich Albion is struggling to get consistency, but they have been good lately and they will be looking to continue their winning run. They have a better team, they are still having a chance to get a straight promotion, so I expect them to get all three points here.

West Bromwich Albion to win: 3-1

Aston Villa vs Blackburn Rovers

Considering the fact that Aston Villa is back in play-offs, we can officially say that this has been a crazy season in Championship. They are finally in decent form and they will be looking to keep their play-off spot on Saturday against Blackburn Rovers. When we talk about the away team, there is not much to be said, they are far from their best form and they have only one win in last five matches. I expect both sides to score here, but Aston Villa should get a win.

Aston Villa to win: 2-1

Derby County vs Rotherham United

Derby County is currently doing what Derby County always does, they have lost their play-off spot and they are now hoping to get it back as soon as they can. On paper, this should be an easy game for them, but we should consider the fact that Rotherham United is fighting for survival and they will not go down without the fight. However, I do believe that Derby County is a better team, but I don’t expect them to score many goals against Rotherham.

Derby County to win: 1-0

Ipswich Town vs Hull City

Ipswich Town has been unlucky lately as they were getting good results, but they are struggling to get a win. They will play at home against Hull City at Saturday and I can’t say that I haven’t noticed that every time that Hull City is back in fight for play-offs they always lose the next match. It looks like they currently can’t deal with pressure and Ipswich Town needs to use that in their advantage. Basically, Ipswich Town is back in League One, but theoretically they can still get out of the relegation zone, so they will fight for a win.

Ipswich Town to win: 1-0

Leeds United vs Millwall

Millwall is currently in a really bad place and playing against Leeds United is the last thing they need. They have been awful away from home this season and they are fighting for survival at the moment. However, that’s a bad news for Leeds as in this part of a season it’s tough to play against the teams that are fighting for survival. Leeds United has lost their second place recently, but I don’t expect them to get it back this weekend.

Draw: 1-1

Nottingham Forest vs Swansea City

In theory, both of these clubs are still having a chance to reach play-offs, but with their form this season it’s hard to expect them to suddenly do that. Nottingham Forest is playing at home, they have a better team and I think that they are good against rivals that have similar style of football. They are only three points behind Aston Villa, but their recent form has been awful. I expect them to control this game and create more chances, but I wouldn’t expect a lot of goals in this one.

Nottingham Forest to win: 1-0

Queens Park Rangers vs Bolton Wanderers

Queens Park Rangers have really dropped their form lately, and although they are not so close to the relegation zone at the moment, they need to win as much games as they can in next few fixtures in order to improve their form. This should really be an easy match for them. Bolton Wanderers are in all sorts of mess and they are the only club that I am absolutely sure that will go down. Their away performance is awful and although they’ve managed to get some points lately, I can’t see them winning this one.

Queens Park Rangers to win: 2-0

Reading vs Preston North End

I am really looking forward to this one, this is the kind of game that is extremely significant to both teams and you can be absolutely certain that there will be a lot of action on both sides. Reading is fighting for survival and they have been in decent form lately. They have lost only five of their last matches and they will look to continue that form. Preston North End is fighting for play-offs and they have the same amount of points as Aston Villa.

Draw: 2-2

Sheffield United vs Bristol City

Now that they are holding a second place, Sheffield United needs to keep their form and win as much matches as they can. Bristol City has been excellent this season, but their recent form has been awful. This will be a tough match as both sides will be fighting hard to get all three points. Although Billy Sharp hasn’t scored in last few games, I expect his to find the back of the net on Saturday.

Sheffield United to win: 2-1

Stoke City vs Sheffield Wednesday

Stoke City is unbeaten in their last seven league matches, but in those seven matches they’ve managed to get only one win. Sheffield Wednesday is in fight for play-offs and they are currently in excellent form. They have been a different team under Steve Bruce and I think that they will be a better team on Saturday. They will most likely control the game, get more possession and create more chances. Stoke City is having problems in finding the back of the net and Sheffield Wednesday is well organized in defence.

Sheffield Wednesday to win: 0-1

Wigan Athletic vs Brentford

5-2 win against Bolton must have been a big boost for Wigan Athletic. International break is also a good thing as they needed some time to sort thing out. Their form at home has been excellent this season and it is a shame that they are currently fighting for survival. On Saturday they’ll have a tough opponent. Brentford has really been amazing lately and although they have lost their last two games, I expect them to fight to get all three points here. I don’t think that any of these two teams will get a win on Saturday though.

Draw: 1-1

Middlesbrough vs Norwich City

Can Middlesbrough break an unbeaten run that Norwich City is having? I don’t think so. It will definitely be tough for Norwich City to get a win on Saturday, but Tony Pulis is having a hard time getting points lately. Middlesbrough can even lose their play-offs spot this weekend if they don’t get a good result, but their current form is awful and I don’t think that they have what they need to get a win against league leaders.

Norwich City to win: 0-1

AFHQ: Which African stars can win the Champions League?

Arsenal players celebrating

It is another thrilling weekend when the teams of Fulham and Tottenham will be presented with the opportunity to change the title race. For Fulham it will be a game of honor as they are a Championship team already. For Spurs it is a part of the fight for the top 4 finish.

Fulham vs Manchester City

Many City players are coming back from international duty which means that the Pep Guardiola’s men aren’t rested. However, City should be good enough to go past Fulham and keep the lead in the title race.

Kevin de Bruyne, Fernandinho, John Stones, Benjamin Mendy, Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi are all available to play against Fulham.

Manchester City to win: 1:3

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Southampton

This is a very important game. Whoever wins it will make an important step in securing their place in the Premier League.

Danny Ings and Mario Lemina are back for Southampton which is a big relief as Shane Long and another forward Michael Obafemi are out.

Draw: 1:1

Burnley vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Burnley need to win this game against Wolves who have nothing to play for except to entertain their fans. The Sean Dyches’s men will be under pressure to win 3 points against a team who’s much better than them.

Wolves to win: 1:2

Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield Town

Palace haven’t secured their Premier League place yet. They need to win 3 points against the relegated Terriers to feel safe. Huddersfield will be an unpredictable team until the end of the season. It’s players should give their best now, if some of them want to attract attention and to move to another team who’s staying in the English top flight.

Tow of the most rated Crystal Palace players – Wilfried Zaha and Aaron Wan-Bissaka – face a late fitness test.

Christopher Schindler and Jonathan Hogg are available for Huddersfield and Danny Williams could make his first start for 2019. Laurent Depoitre, Isaac Mbenza, Adama Diakhaby and Demeaco Duhaney are out for the Terriers.

Crystal Palace to win: 2:1

Leicester City vs AFC Bournemouth

Brendan rogers knows that he has been brought to King Power Stadium to win games and to improve Leicester current status in the league. So do the Foxes players and for that reason they will be looking forward to win this home game.

Leicester to win: 3:1

Manchester United vs Watford

There is a positive atmosphere at Old Trafford at the moment after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have signed a long terms deal as manager. The united players obviously enjoy working with him and the news that he will stay beyond the summer is building momentum at Old Trafford.

Despite that Man United have still long way to go to return their status of a Premier League heavyweight.

Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard should be available to play for the Red Devils. Another important player Ashley Young is back from suspension. Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial should be assessed after picking up minor injuries.

Man United to win: 3:0

West Ham United vs Everton

Everton have been nothing else but disappointment during the second part of the season. they have been kicked out of the FA Cup by Millwall and their only good game in 2019 was the recent 2:0 home win against Chelsea. On the contrary, the hammers have been improving over the course of the season despite than some of their best players are injured.

Samir Nasri is a doubt, while Jack Wilshere who’s has recovered might need another week before start playing. Andy Carroll, Andriy Yarmolenko, Carlos Sanchez and Winston Reid are al sidelined for the Hammers.

Yerry Mina us not available for Everton due to hamstring injury. Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes and Phil Jagielka and Kurt Zouma are all available to play.

Draw: 1:1

Cardiff City vs Chelsea

Both teams need to win this game. Cardiff to save their chance to stay in the Premier League, Chelsea to save their chances to finish in the top four. Chelsea have more quality and should win that one.

Chelsea to win: 1:2

Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur

This will be a very difficult games for Liverpool as Spurs have a lot of quality and if the game goes their way they might end Liverpool’s hopes to win the title. The Reds have improved a little bit before the international break and look good after kicking our Bayern Munich out of the Champions League and qualified for the Quarter Finals.

Arsenal vs Newcastle United

As of now it looks like that Unai Emery will be able to return Arsenal into the top four and the Champions League. A win against the visiting Magpies will be another step towards this goal. Newcastle need just 6 or 7 points to keep their place in the Premier League. Rafael Benitez is doing a great job at St. James”s Park and he is definitely the Newcastle’s most prized asset.

Arsenal to win: 2:1

Why Bayern Munich Will Win the Champions League

Hull City vs Sheffield Wed

Fight for direct promotion is still on, but this time Leeds United is second. Norwich City still holds the first place although they couldn’t win against Reading on Wednesday. Fight for survival is getting insane and there will be a lot of action in Championship this weekend. These are out predictions for this weekend.

Aston Villa vs Bristol City

For me, this will definitely be the biggest game this weekend. Aston Villa is finally back in play-offs and they have won all of their last seven matches. Bristol City has a game in hand, they are also currently in play-offs but their form hasn’t been the best lately. I definitely expect a lot of goals here, both teams are having an attacking mentality and both teams will be looking to get a win here. This is a game between direct rivals and it is hard to say which team has a better chance to win, but for me it has to be Aston Villa. They are playing at home, they have a better squad and at the moment they are in far better form.

Aston Villa to win: 3-2

Derby County vs Bolton Wanderers

Derby County has been in awful form lately, they are having a game in hand, but they are losing important points. Losing in Blackburn was far from what they had to do in their last match, but this weekend at least they have a much easier opponent. Bolton Wanderers has been one of the worst teams in Championship when it comes to the away performance. Their form lately is awful and they have even lost to Ipswich Town. Considering that Derby County is playing at home, they definitely have to win this one.

Derby County to win: 2-0

Ipswich Town vs Birmingham City

Both teams are fighting for survival but they are in quite different places. Ipswich Town is last on table and they will most likely play in League One next season, Birmingham City on the other side could’ve fight for play-offs if there wasn’t for an incident against Aston Villa. Birmingham City is by far better at home, but they never had a problem playing against teams at the bottom. I expect them to dominate the game, to gain more possession and create more chances.

Birmingham City to win: 0-2

Middlesbrough vs Hull City

Middlesbrough has finally broken their losing run with a win over Bolton on Tuesday. They will once again aim for play-offs, but they have to rely on Aston Villa or Bristol City losing as many games as they can. Hull City is also fighting for play-offs and they have proved that they have the mentality to continue this fight until the end of the season. It will not be easy for Middlesbrough to get a win in front of their own fans against their direct rivals, but Tony Pulis need to continue the winning run in order to reach play-offs.

Middlesbrough to win: 1-0

Nottingham Forest vs Blackburn Rovers

Nottingham Forest is slowly losing their chances of getting a promotion this season and for a team that spent as much on summer as they’ve did, this will be one of the most disappointing seasons lately. However, they still have a slight chance of reaching play-offs and they will most certainly work hard in order to achieve that. Blackburn Rovers have been a tough opponent this season, but their form lately has been far from good, especially away from home.

Nottingham Forest to win: 2-1

Queens Park Rangers vs Swansea City

Swansea City has actually been in great form lately and with a game in hand they have as much chances to reach play-offs as Nottingham Forest. Queens Park Rangers have sacked Steve McClaren as they are hoping to improve their form. They were unlucky not to score against Millwall where they’ve dominated a game, but this time I expect them to show more fight and perhaps stop Swansea City in their fight for promotion. This will definitely be a tough match and I expect both teams to keep a clean sheet on Saturday.

Draw: 0-0

Reading vs Brentford

After getting a point in away match again Norwich City, there is a pressure on Reading that they have to win this one at home. Brentford has been good this season, but their away form has been awful. They’ve managed to get some win, but their overall away form is far from what any team is looking for. Reading has been amazing under new manager and they have really been a tough opponent since January. I expect them to survive this season and I expect them to win this one on Saturday.

Reading to win: 2-1

Sheffield United vs Millwall

Sheffield United has lost important points against Birmingham City, but to be fair to them they’ve managed to get at least a point in Birmingham while Leeds United lost a game there recently. This time, Sheffield United simply has to win. They play at home, they have an easier opponent and if they lose points again they can say goodbye to direct promotion try their luck through play-offs. I expect Sheffield United to create more chances here and score more than one goal on Saturday.

Sheffield United to win: 2-0

Stoke City vs Rotherham United

Rotherham United has been in insane form lately and although they are still in relegation zone, it looks like they are really determinate to stay in league this season. They are playing with confidence, they are winning games but their away form hasn’t been so good this season. Stoke City has lost their last match against Swansea City, but their current form is quite good. Although they are having troubles to find a back of the net, I believe that they can get a win against Rotherham United at home.

Stoke City to win: 1-0

West Bromwich Albion vs Preston North End

Both of these teams are in bad form at the moment, Preston North End has lost their last three games, while West Bromwich Albion has lost their last two. Preston North End is hoping to get back in fight for play-offs and West Bromwich Albion will look to get back in fight for direct promotion. It’s hard for any of these two teams to achieve their goal, but I am certain that West Bromwich Albion is having a better team and with advantage of playing at home, they should be winning this one.

West Bromwich Albion to win: 3-1

Leeds United vs Sheffield Wednesday

It hasn’t taken much for Leeds United to get back on second place, but now they have to keep winning in order to stay second. Sheffield Wednesday has been excellent under Steve Bruce but it will be a tough challenge for them to get a win against Leeds United away from home. Patrick Bamford is in good form currently, he scored both goals against Preston North End and I expect him to score again on Saturday. I expect a tough game, but home team should be winning this one.

Leeds United to win: 1-0

Wigan Athletic vs Norwich City

The last match this weekend and the only one that will be played on Sunday is match between Wigan Athletic and Norwich City. When it comes to Norwich City, they have ended their winning run on Wednesday against Reading but I don’t expect them to make the same mistake on Sunday. Wigan Athletic is excellent at home and they are fighting for survival so I expect them to give a good fight, but I don’t think that they are good enough to get a good result against Norwich City.

Norwich City to win: 1-2
